The Maestrini water intake scoop strainer is built with a full slotted grating, allowing smooth water flow even in challenging marine conditions. It fits through the hull with the grating on the exterior side, while the male threaded pipe leads inside to connect to a valve or seacock, allowing you to easily control the flow of seawater.

The through hull scoop grating can be securely installed using marine-grade sealant, ensuring a watertight seal, and fixed firmly with a back locking nut and washer for maximum stability.

All through-hull brass fittings should be properly electrically bonded to protect against electrolytic corrosion. While brass provides excellent corrosion resistance, it can be susceptible to dezincification in prolonged saltwater exposure, so regular maintenance and inspections are recommended for vessels operating below the waterline.
